Visiting our site indicates that you posses an object, artefact or heirloom in need of repair, restoration, conservation or a course of preventative treatment (preventative conservation) to arrest its deterioration. By reducing the risk of further damage, which can potentially lead to end of life for that much valued item, either for its sentimental or monetary value, a new lease of life is given to the object/objects.

There are many varieties of CERAMIC objects which are known under a broad spectrum of terms, some indicating the materials and/or techniques used in their manufacturing as for example; pearl ware; slip ware, salt glaze, pâte-sur-pâte, others stemming from their geographical origin i.e. China, majolica, porcelain of Paris , faience, Delft, Imari, Meissen, etc.

Other definitions evolved through visual interpretation of the medium, as in the case of parian ware, hard paste porcelain which, due to its marble -like appearance, was named after the much praised Parian marble originating in the island of Paros in the Aegean.

Irrespective of the titles or names in use, ''Ceramics'' from the Greek Keramos, a potters earth, are singled out by the fact that, in essence, they are clay made objects subjected to various degrees of heat, fired in a kiln or dried naturally under the sun's rays. The differences lie in the levels of temperatures they are exposed to and further processes which render them impermeable to moisture.

A skilled and knowledgeable professional conservator/restorer would match the right materials and apply adequate treatments in order to safely and competently bring the object back to its former shape, appearance, function or extend its life in spite of the damage it sustained,  without further damaging the object.
